Barely a week back in Copenhagen and it was again my turn to play host. Anne-Sophie was visiting for the weekend. A long time correspondent, I didn’t have to put on a friend’s face with her. We went to take photos of the city from the top of the Round Tower and from the canals on one of the boat tours. It was also a good occasion to invite my francophone colleagues Frederic, Daniel, and Sylvie to join for a brunch at Cafe Theodors down in Osterbro -it’s a nice spot. Spending the rest of the day in an Irish pub seemed to be the last thing one should do when visiting Denmark, but that was exactly what we did. I was pleased that everyone was happy meeting each other. Sometimes exchanging views with other people is more interesting than seeing castles and monuments. On Sunday, on Sylvie’s recommendation, we went to the Carlsberg brewery. It was an excellent idea. And so we again spent the day on beers (which actually is a Danish experience). I didn’t have to do much to ensure she boarded her plane happy with more, but ridiculous photos to bring home. I’m not sure I should see her parents again anytime soon. But as the French say, the ridicule does not kill, otherwise I would have been dead a long time ago. It was a great weekend :).
